SURPRISE Giveaway: Jan. 13- 17

I love surprises.
I mean like LOVE them.
Except when I know they're coming, then I anticipate them too much, but that's a story for another day.

Anyway, I love surprises, and yesterday I got two of them.

The first was Libby's report card.

Granted I should have been expecting it, but seeing as how I'm totally sleep-deprived thanks to a certain one-year-old who loves me so much that she wants to see me several times a night rather than catch some Z's, I forgot it was coming.

Therefore I was SURPRISED when Libby came home with this yesterday.

I can't believe my precious girl is half way done with kindergarten.
Wow.
That's all I can say about that.
Just wow.

Surprise number two came in the mail yesterday in the form of a thank you card from the Mississippi Children's Museum director.
She read my blog entry here and liked it so much that wanted to do something special for one of you.

So, you can imagine my SURPRISE when I saw these included in her envelope:

That's right, readers.
One of you is going to get FOUR free passes to the new
 Mississippi Children's Museum!

And you have every reason to be excited because the museum is FABULOUS!

Seriously, Lee and I had as much (if not more) fun than Libby.

And with four passes, you can bring your family or have a great play date with another mom and little one.
The choice is yours.
And they don't expire, so even if you don't live in the area,
you have plenty of time to plan a trip, and trust me when I say it's worth the drive--
 the museum is WONDERFUL!

But first you gotta win and to win you gotta enter.

THERE ARE THREE SIMPLE WAYS TO ENTER TO WIN THE TICKETS:
1. Simply leave a comment on my blog. How easy is THAT???!!!!
2. Follow my blog and leave a comment telling me that you do.
3. Visit the Mississippi Children's Museum website, look around,
and leave a comment telling me one thing you can't wait to see there when you visit.

Please be sure to leave a separate comment for each way that you enter.
I'll select a winner using random.org on the morning of January 18th.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU and have a fabulous Thursday!
If you need me, I'll be the one who is totally overwhelmed with all I have to do this week but who would rather just cuddle up with the new puppy and watch Teen Mom.
Pity we can't always do what we want, isn't it?

  1. So, I'm new to this "blog" thing... Yes, I know, get up-to-date. And, I swore I'd never be that teacher who asked the students how to work the VCR. UGH!! That has become me. Anyway, totally interested in the Mississippi Children's Museum and I adore McCall. So, it is logical. Suck it up and learn about blogging and maybe even, dare I say it, do my own... Naw, leave that to McCall. I'll just enjoy hers!

  5. So, there is a story here... There is always a story, isn't there? You see, our oldest, Eli, hasn't had a great year with report cards. He isn't failing, but we expect A's & B's and well... Last semester we tried punishment and taking things away. This semester we are trying a new approach; we are offering rewards. Every Thursday when he brings home signed papers, if he has all A's & B's, he can get a small reward (we are thinking free- like extra video game time, etc.). If he brings home all A's & B's at progress reports he can have $20 or we will by him something worth $20. Then, yes, you guessed it, if he has those grades on his 3rd 9 weeks report card- he gets a trip to the Mississippi Children's Museum. So, story told and you can see I've been planning this trip for a while (well, since before Christmas when we decided we needed a new strategy). So, I looked at the pictures on the website, their FB page, and this blog and really started thinking about what I would like to see. Eli (10) would love the activities related to the body parts as he LOVES science. And, because of his age, he would be interested in the car. But, maybe it is more gender than age because every boy I know has some kind of thing for cars... Anyway, Ethan (5) has two greats loves- singing & food. So, I think he would love the musical activities and get lost in the kitchen. I would never get him to leave. That leaves Mark, the husband. Mark loves games and competition and I think the life size Scrabble board, well, he'd be in heaven. That leaves me. So, what do I want to see? Besides the fact that I'd love to just watch them all have a blast, I believe I'd like to sit and listen to my boys laugh and make jokes about coming out of the digestive track and landing in the "toilet." Yes, I live with three boys. My life is full of poop & fart sounds & jokes. I wouldn't trade it for anything :)

  8. I would love to check out the Exploring Mississippi exhibit, or the reading exhibit. I'm from Louisiana (hi neighbor) and would love to visit there (I now live in Texas) with my daughter, son and fiance' I wasn't going to enter to give others the chance- but seeing as how he is due for a vacation, and our two are toddler/preschool age and love to learn, and I'm going to school to teach (can't tell by my grammer or punctuation sometimes in bloggy land) I would love to win and allow for my family a new cultural experiance. I would love to show them that Texas isn't the ONLY best state... Thanks!
