Fundraising: An Update

Let me start by saying a big fat THANK YOU to everyone who has helped with our fundraising efforts thus far. I have been beyond blessed by each dollar we have received, each reposting on facebook or twitter, each person who has blogged about our trip, and each of you who has come up to me in person, money in hand.

Point being: our shirts are selling like hotcakes.

We have sold over 100 shirts so far and are at the halfway mark with our fundraising!
Like I told you before, plane tickets to Uganda are crazy high. Think $4200 high. And shots? They're high too. Not sure what they injected into our arms that is worth $1000, but I'm guessing I'm carrying around some liquid gold in these here veins. And then add in expenses for this and that, and we're talking one hefty chunk of change. And while I'm teaching summer school in June to cover one plane ticket, we are still counting on God to send us the rest. And you know what? He is totally providing. God is so much bigger than a few thousand dollars.

So far, our shirts have found homes in five states.

And I wanted to point out the number of people who have given a dollar or five dollars to help us and then tried to apologize for 'not giving more'. I wish I could express to you the joy in my heart that EACH and EVERY dollar brings. One dollar or fifty dollars (we've gotten both amounts today), I am so blessed by someone giving his or her hard earned cash to help us help others. Period. Please don't ever apologize for helping, even if it may not be as much as you'd like to give. Every dollar puts us one dollar closer to meeting our goal, and for that I am ever thankful.

We leave in thirty-two days, and I could not possibly be more excited.
If you've placed a shirt order, hold tight. I'm placing my order with the t-shirt fella soon. If you HAVE NOT YET ordered and want to, you still have about two weeks, give or take a few days. I promise to let you know when I'm about to place my order. And, if you've been thinking about donating a dollar, let me just say that your dollar will totally make my day.

And, I have two more fundraising efforts coming your way soon. Get excited. I think you're gonna like 'em.

Thank you, thank you, thank you again!
You are making me one happy girl.
